BBC StoryWorks is the commercial content studio of BBC Global News. We build on the BBC’s award-winning expertise in creating compelling film and video, thought-provoking written journalism, and innovative digital content, and our instinctive ability to seek out stories that capture audiences’ attention and inspire people across the globe.

Our team works with commercial partners to create engaging and compelling content campaigns designed with the BBC's desirable American and global audience in mind. Our custom content solutions amplify advertisers’ key messaging strategies while aligning with passion-driven News and Features brands including BBC Worklife, BBC Culture, BBC Future, BBC Travel, BBC Sport, and Top Gear. In addition, we enable sponsorships of our world-class editorial output, creating an alignment for our partners with the BBC’s trusted editorial voice.

We’re looking for creative minds to join the team and develop fresh ideas for smart, innovative content and experiences that will resonate with BBC audiences and help our partners achieve their messaging objectives.

The Creative Strategist for BBC StoryWorks Americas will collaborate across BBC Global News Ltd.’s editorial, sales, and product development teams to create unique, multi-platform content programs aligning with all brands, for clients across the US, Canada, and Latin America. The ideal candidate has a strong editorial mindset and passion for uncovering innovative digital storytelling products and platforms.

Role Responsibility

  • Develop new ideas for custom content programs that will bring in new commercial partners as well as drive repeat business for BBC Global News Ltd.
  • Craft content strategy briefs and pitch decks designed to clearly articulate the creative vision of our content programs to partners, both in response to RFPs and as proactive pitches.
  • Strategize with BBC News editorial teams to build out new sponsorship opportunities for advertising partners.
  • Partner with Project Management team to develop scalable program plans, budgets, and schedules that will maximize the success of new content ideas.
  • Conduct strategic analysis of the competitive digital media landscape and leverage learnings to further differentiate BBC StoryWorks offerings in the Americas.


  • Collaborate with global research team to inform our content strategy approach and ensure our programs deliver on the KPIs that matter most to our partners. 
  • Collaborate with BBC StoryWorks global counterparts (including London, Singapore, and Australia) to share best practices and key learnings from content campaigns delivered around the world.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A strong understanding of the following:
    • Digital media landscape
    • Innovative digital storytelling products and platforms (AR, VR, Voice UI, etc.)
    • Social media distribution tactics
  • An ability to write quickly in a high-pressure environment

Professional Experience

  • 2 to 4+ years in the workforce. Experience at a digital publisher or branded content is a plus
  • Experience and/or educational focus in marketing, brand strategy, creative writing/English, or journalism a plus


  • A great sense of humor, self-motivation, and the ability to both collaborate with a team, and work independently
