The Senior Coordinator, Communications will be responsible for providing day-to-day tactical support for various internal and external communications efforts for BBC Studios - North America and LatAm. They will be involved in the execution of various activities including writing and editing press materials, research, media monitoring and analysis, media list development and maintenance, and more. Responsibilities include supporting earned media and thought leadership efforts for the company’s commercial business priorities across the U.S., Canada, and LatAm. –content distribution, ad sales, licensing, streaming, and podcasts. The Senior Coordinator, Communications will also help manage digital communications, with an emphasis on b2b social media execution. This role will report to the Director, Communications for BBC Studios North America and LatAm.

Role Responsibility

  • Write award submission entries, messaging, and prep documents to support industry awards, panels and other speaking engagements.
  • Draft written communications materials (e.g., social media copy, press releases, media alerts, pitches, Q&As, fact sheets, executive bios, proactive/reactive messaging).
  • Manage BBC Studios North America and LatAm press website.
  • Develop PR-related analytics by monitoring and compiling coverage reports, recaps, and strategic executive summaries.
  • Support the broader BBC Studios North America & LatAm communications team as needed with light administrative tasks.

Scope & Impact

  • Help develop public relations strategies and tactics for key BBC Studios premium content in the region, including series, documentaries, and podcasts.
  • Implement a b2b social media strategy for BBC Studios North America and LatAm with an emphasis on Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Establish and sustain an editorial calendar to amplify earned media and thought leadership efforts across social channels and platforms.


  • Partner with the Director and broader team to tell the BBC Studios story via earned media relations and thought leadership opportunities in the U.S., Canada, and LatAm.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders (media, industry organizations, partners, and vendors), as well as across the organization including divisions within BBC Studios and BBC (Public Service).

The Ideal Candidate


  • Excellent writing, proofreading, creative thinking, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively across various cultures and time zones.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiar with b2b and consumer communication tactics with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience.
  • Experience in the media industry a plus.
  • Experience with social media, digital content creation, and digital content planning skills – including but not limited to Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Experience developing creative visual communications e.g. graphics for social media.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency required.
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus.

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
