This is an exciting opportunity to join the Communications Team for BBC Studios in North America & Latin America as Team Assistant. The role will be a central point of support for the Communications team in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago and provide executive administrative support to the Head of Communications in the region.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage calendars, work across the company to arrange meetings and necessary logistics.
  • Book travel, coordinate itineraries, and process expense reports.
  • Code and process purchase orders and track invoicing.
  • Ensure print and online subscriptions are kept up to date.
  • Draft written communications materials (e.g., social media copy).
  • Special projects as needed.

Scope & Impact

  • Use media monitoring and database tools to compile and maintain media lists, coverage reports, recaps, and strategic executive summaries.
  • Post content to various digital platforms, including employee app, press website and Twitter.
  • Assist in research and organization of internal events and publicity campaigns.

Relationships

  • Provide general administrative support to the Communications team as needed and proactively communicate to relevant parties in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders (media, industry organizations, partners, and vendors), as well as across the organization including divisions within BBC Studios and BBC (Public Service).

Knowledge & Skills

  • MS Office Suite proficiency required.
  • Knowledge of communications, public relations and/or media / entertainment industry a plus.

Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with media monitoring software and platforms, database creation and analytics tools i.e. WordPress, Muck Rack, Canva, Hootsuite, PR Newswire, and BusinessWire a plus.
