BBC Studios Asia and Greater China are fast-growing parts of our Global Markets business and are operated as two separate regions. We’re finding innovative and creative ways to extend our brands and business into each of the three core Asia markets: South East Asia, India, Northeast Asia, as well as Greater China.
The BBC has been part of Australasian life since the 60s. Based in Sydney, BBC Studios ANZ operates nine channels, distributes content to every kind of platform, produces BBC Studios and original formats for the local market, and works with partners to bring consumer products and live events to the region.
BBC Studios brings the best of British creativity to markets ranging from South Africa to Sweden. We reach local audiences through our six branded BBC channels, licensing our high quality programming to major broadcasters and platforms and produce original programming and format adaptations through our production hubs in France, Germany, South Africa and the Nordics.
We bring the best of the BBC to the Americas in many ways. From BBC America to BritBox, and streaming service BBC Select to BBC Podcasts on Apple, as well as our production arm in LA who make Dancing with the Stars for ABC, among many other titles. We also have a strong News presence with our editorial teams for BBC.com based in New York, Washington DC and Toronto. Responsible for building powerful new partnerships in the region, this is managed by our expert content sales and co-productions teams.
